The focus of the mini-expansion is adding animals vulnerable to climate change and global heating to your deck. This includes exclusive desert-adapted animals which are rare and endangered sub-populations of highly specialised animals. These animals are the only ones in the game worth more than ten points because they are so difficult to safely introduce to your reserve.

The mini-expansion also gives you two extra conservation experts who will help protect your animals with their unique abilities. The climatologist helps both with climate protection and mitigation in the game; the veterinarian provides additional sanctuary space for your vulnerable animals.
